We take a look back at some of the 15-year histories of the iPhone Best Phone.
Apple released the first iPhone in 2007 with a 3.5-inch diagonal screen and a 2-megapixel camera. Apple's first iPhone, which sold 2.2 billion units, ushered in an era of phones with touchscreens and premium cameras. Some of the defining features of the iPhone family and how they've changed over the course of 15 years, the iPhone has gone from an interesting new contender in the consumer tech market to a device that many simply can't live without.
You can't forget the first-ever iPhone, which changed the way we use smartphones, Fifteen years on, and while behavioral patterns continue to change due to technological advancements, we still rely heavily on our smartphones, and the iPhone Best Phone popularity shows no sign of slowing down. Right now, it's hard to see if the iPhone will be replace, as it remains the key gateway to Apple's world. Everything is connected to the iPhone.
How device has changed over the years, from screens to the internet and smarter cameras.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs holds up the launch of the new iPhone Best Phone at Macworld on Jan 9, 2007.
The invention of the iPhone eliminated the physical keyboard
The first iPhone was announce by Steve Jobs in January 2007 and released in the United States on June 29 of that year. It was release in other countries, including the UK, in November. Describing it as "iPod, mobile phone, and Internet communicator," the co-founder emphasized from the outset that it wasn't like any other mobile phone at the time.
In 2007, rival iPhone Best Phone including the Blackberry, Nokia E62, and Moto Q had physical keyboards that took up about half of the front of the device. For the first iPhone, Apple decided to replace physical buttons with virtual ones in the user interface, since they could change depending on the software being used at any time. While other touchscreen products had come before, the iPhone was revolutionary because users could interact with it with their fingers instead of a stylus.
Steve Jobs announced the first-ever iPhone in 2007 it was released in the US of that year.
Jobs blasted other competitors who chose to design stylus
for their tablets when the first iPhone was launch (the strongest competitor,
Samsung, still releases phones with a stylus today).
"Who wants a stylus?" Jobs said no one wanted a
stylus. So let's not use a stylus.
Apple products are design to work with "the world's best pointing device" -- the human finger. The touchscreen has always been the mainstay of the iPhone -- except it's bigger and bigger to accommodate the growing love for streaming TV shows and movies. iPhone Best Phone screens have since grown to 4 inches (iPhone 5 in 2012), 4.7 inches (iPhone 6 in 2014), 5.8 inches (iPhone X in 2017), and 6.7 inches (iPhone 13 Pro Max, released last fall).
Professional Quality Mobile Camera
Even though cell phones had cameras in 2007, the quality and potential of AI filtering and editing that exists today has not yet been there. The original iPhone had only one camera -- a 2-megapixel camera -- on the back of the device. At the time, a camera on the back of a phone was fairly common. But it couldn't record video -- something that's now taken for granted. Video capabilities didn't appear on Apple's phones until 2009's iPhone 3GS. The iPhone 6 is the eighth-generation iPhone released in 2014 and has a 4.7-inch screen (although the iPhone 6 Plus has a larger screen - 5.5 inches)
Front-facing cameras weren't the Apple iPhone Best Phone until 2010 with the iPhone 4.
The original iPhone's 2-megapixel camera snapped photos at 1600 x 1200 resolution - not much by today's standards. But still impressive at the time. Of course, in 2007 selfish wasn't quite as ubiquitous. So it wasn't until 2010 that a front-facing camera was introduced on the iPhone 4. Along with Apple's new video chat platform, FaceTime.
Fast forward to 2021, and by comparison, the iPhone 13 has three cameras (one front and two rear). While the iPhone 13 Pro has four (one front and three rear). Like many modern smartphones, iPhone Best Phone cameras are now designed to rival some of the most expensive. Sophisticated digital cameras a consumer can buy. One of the iPhone 13 Pro Max camera innovations is "Movie Mode," which keeps focusing on moving subjects. Allowing users to create movies that look like they should on the big screen.
iPhone Best Phone From 2G to 5G
Jobs launched the first iPhone as a "breakthrough Internet communications device," with desktop-class email, web browsing, search, and maps. But the device can only connect to WiFi and 2G, the second-generation cellular network standard dating back to the 1990s.
Even though the first commercial 3G networks were launch in mid-2001. The iPhone Best Phone conspicuously lacked 3G connectivity for fast Internet access. The following year, 3G made its way to the iPhone with the introduction of the iPhone 4, which was first released in July 2008 and which Apple used with the tagline "Twice as fast for half the price" (the 8GB model starts at $199, not the first $499 for the first iPhone model).
The following year, in 2009, Apple released the iPhone 3GS, with apps that could run at least twice as fast (the S stands for "speed"). The iPhone 3GS, pictured here, is the third-generation iPhone release in June 2009. The successor to the previous year's iPhone 3G.
Apple iPhone Best Phone first introduced 4G, the next-generation connectivity standard for its phones, in 2012. Starting with the iPhone 5, while the current standard, 5G Network, launched in 2020 with the iPhone 12 models.
Apple iPhone Best Phone isn't the first smartphone maker to introduce
fifth-generation communication technology built-in - that feat belongs to rival
Samsung. Which first brought the Galaxy S10 5G to South Korean customers in
April 2019.
Closed software APP ecology
Interestingly, Steve Jobs was initially oppose to the idea of allowing third-party development on iOS. The company's proprietary software also debuted in June 2007 alongside the first iPhone. In other words, Jobs didn't want the iPhone to have apps that users could buy from outside developers. So every app on the iPhone was something his company had a hand in creating.
So when the iPhone first launched, it didn't have an App Store. Only had apps like Weather, Notes, Calendar, and Photos preloaded. However, Jobs eventually relented on the condition that the third-party apps met strict standards. Were test and approved by Apple iPhone Best Phone.
Launched in 2008. The App Store has been at the heart of creating a number of very successful mobile app businesses ever since. It's hard to imagine an iPhone these days without a slew of apps stuck to the home screen. None of which existed when the first iPhone came out.
iPhone Best Phone Future?
Apple iPhone Best Phone now has a habit of releasing a new flagship iPhone
every fall. It is expecte to launch its iPhone 14 on September 13. The camera on the most expensive iPhone 14 model will stand
out like never before, housing a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera.According to the rumored specs, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max will have a square camera bump on. The rear measuring 1.44 inches by 1.5 inches (36.73mm by 38.21mm), slightly larger than the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The 48-megapixel camera system will allow for 8K video recording, offering a major upgrade over 4K video recording capabilities. Meanwhile, rumors of an "iPhone 15" are also rife, even though it won't be release until 2023. But at the current pace of technology development, will the iPhone last another 15 years?
